Rad Reading-April

For the month of April I read the book “Number the Stars” by Lois Lowry. The book is based in year 1943 the main character is Annemarie johansen. She has a little sister named Kirsti. The book is about Annemarie’s life in Copenhagen. They go through the constant presence of lots of food shortages, stores closing, school shutting down and Nazi soldiers. As the German soldiers relocate to all the Jews of Denmark, the JohanSen’s take care of Annemarie’s best friend, Ellen Rosen, and pretend she is apart of the JohanSen’s family. They live like a normal “family” until they realize more needs to happen in order to save Ellens family and Jewish friends of Denmark. The johansens had a plan and it was to help their Jewish friends escape from the nazis by risking their lives. In this book there is a lot of adventure and bravery. I give this book a 9.4 out of 10 because I liked books that are based on historical things and this is the best historical book I’ve read so far and at first I had low expectations for this book but the more I read the more sucked in I got into this book.

20% Project Week 4

This week for my project I left everything at home. This is so bad because I couldn’t improve more on my crotchetiness so that means I’m behind on my goals. I’ll catch up at home. So instead I decided to help friend with her project. We went out side to pass the volley ball and try diving for it. She showed me how to dive for the ball and not get hurt. We got a little bit distracted by the people in p.e but we went back on track.

20% project week 3

This week I was distracted by some friends because they were doing more active and fun stuff so I lost a lot of time talking and zoning out but I got a lot done in the last few minutes I finally perfected my magic circle and I was so happy because I spent all last week trying to perfect my magic circle. Now I can extend my magic circle and make it a tad bit bigger and move onto the rest of the body Alf henri the frog.

Week 3 20% project

For week three I’m done learning the basics and I’ve started on my magic circle again. This is because my first magic circle was way too messy and looked really loose and lumpy. I pulled the string and watched the video on how to start a magic circle. It was so difficult but I sorta got the hang of it. I kept on undoing it and staring again but getting stuck in the same place that I messed up the other 14 times. And I was going stop because of how mad I was and she was going to fast and not explaining it right. Right when I was about to stop and just sit in my chair I noticed a little setting symbol and I pressed it and it said “playback speed” and I could play the video in slow motion so I can finally not rage and get the magic circle. I’ve complete my goal for week three and I did the magic circle I just need to add a few more loops and stretch it out.

The Platypus

Perry the platypus woke up from his twin sized bed at 5:30 am on his favorite colors yellow blue and brown. He wanted to go on an adventure to the zoo but his parents wouldn’t let him so he wouldn’t go through the door to his right. He looked to his left and had the idea to sneak out through his casement window. Perry opens the casement window by the two handles in the middle while admiring the design on it. When he opened the windows the air ventilation in his warm room becomes clearer. Perry took a deep breath from the cold moist morning air. And before he jumped out of the window he had to reform himself to see what’s the safest way to get down from his room high up. “Hmm” said Perry to himself. “How am I going to get down?”He tip-toed to grab his sheets. He grabbed the ends of each sheets and tied very tight knots and he made sure they were secure enough to hold him. Once he was sure it was safe he turns to look at the clock. “Oh my gosh the zoo is about to open!” He sprints to the Window and throws the tied sheets over and out of the window. He ties the other end of the sheet to the pole above him that is holding the curtains. he carefully and quietly slides down the sheets and lands on wet grass in his backyard. His next mission was to try not to turn on the lights in the backyard because they have sensors. He’s successfully past the lights and open the side gate and made sure to close it correctly and he was off to his next destination. The zoo was all he had on his mind. He sprinted there so fast if you blink he would’ve passed you in point seconds. He did a giant leap over all the traffic. Period of the perry the platypus. Yells to a guy in his car. “ How far is the zoo?” The man yells back in a cowboy accent. “ The zoo is right in front of ya.” he turns around so fast it makes him dizzy. There it was. He was glad to see all the wildlife and reptiles. But he was even more excited to see the other platypuses. He runs past all the other mammals. Taking a quick look at all of them. But he can’t seem to find where the platypuses are. Then a human yells “AH one of the platypuses escaped from the enclosure!” The mean and fierce worker quickly turns around and sprints towards Perry, the platypus. Since humans can’t understand platypuses, they thought Perry was going to attack them because all they could understand was his low growl. He tried to escape, but a bright red fishnet flys over his head and trapping him in a small space. The worker shoves him in a dark cage. Then back into the enclosure. Where Perry the platypus was never seen again.

20% Project Week One

Hi, my name is Kathryn and I’m going to be blogging my 20% project for week one. The first thing I did was go to the store Joann, and search for crocheting supplies. I decided to crochet a frog. when I went into the store, I chose out the colors of the frog which are green, white and black. I bought the crochet hook, yarn, stuffing plastic eyes and a yarn needle. I called my cousin who I chose to be my mentor and told her everything about the 20% project and how I chose to crochet. I asked for help and advice on crocheting a frog. we FaceTime called and I got help on how to start the frog and the finger placement on the crochet hook. I watch some videos for extra help and tips on crocheting. I just started the beginning of my frog. From the help of videos and my cousin. She was really helpful. Thank you for reading my blog this week and hope you read my next weeks blog on my 20% project!

Dinner

There are so many people I would want to invite to dinner , but these are my top three people and why. My first person to join me on my dinner would be my friend Zoey that I met at church camp. She’s such a fun person and would light up the whole room with her smile and give such an amazing vibe to the special dinner. My second person I would invite to my dinner is my grandma because we like the same food, and she chooses the best food so whatever my grandma picks to eat is what I’ll choose to eat. And it will give me the best dinner because of such a delicious plate of food. Not just about the food but she is such a kind and caring person. And makes lots of funny jokes. She makes me laugh all the time I’m always smiling around her. And last but not least the third special guest I would invite to my dinner Would be my dog Charlie. I am choosing him to make the dinner more exciting and he would get served healthy dog food that he is able to eat and sit right next to me. I’m inviting my dog to make everyone just so happy and amazed that a dog is allowed in such a fancy restaurant. Thank you for reading my blog on my top three people I would bring to dinner and why.

February rad reading

In February I read a book called “my life with the Walter boys” by Ali Novak. It is about a girl named Jackie who is 15 years old. she moves in with her mom‘s best friend Katherine and her family. Catherine is a mother of seven sons and one daughter. Jackie had to move in with her mom‘s best friend because of a tragic accident that ended up killing her dad, her mom and her sister. Jackie ended up falling in a love triangle with Cole and Alex who are brothers in the Walter family and couldn’t choose who she really wanted. This novel has grief and loss following along with romance , family, and belonging. I recommend this book if you like teen drama, romance , conflict and sad stories. This is a must read if you like all of these genres. I would rate this book a 8/10 because of how long it is. Other than that I loved it!

Any Job in the World

If I had the freedom to have any job in the world, I would be an actor. Here are my reasons why. As an actor, I would love to portray characters and stories, like in plays, musical films and television shows / movies. Acting as a career can be a lot of fun. I would also be getting paid very well. With a range from $69,939-$11,500. I feel like I would also enjoy watching my past performances in movies. I would have lots of benefits as an actor. Like a high earning potential exciting work environment, I get to meet new people and opportunities to collaborate with more famous actors and I get multiple choices of performance styles. Not only does acting make me rich or famous., but becoming an actor can expose you to criticism, but makes them by time very receptive to comments, and taking them into consideration, becoming good listeners, and learning to respect different points of views. Thank you for reading my blog.

Invisible

I woke up and looked down at my hands that I couldn’t see! What was happening I took a few guesses and I think the most obvious one is that I’m invisible! I was freaking out when I realized no one can see me and I can do what I want and get away with it. First thing i would do is go on my phone and look for the earliest flight to Hawaii. I would drive a car over to the airport and sneak onto the plane trip to Hawaii. Right before we land, I will book a hotel to stay at and get the best view. I would text the owner to the hotel just to leave a key underneath the mat because I will be running a little bit late. And he said he would do it. I would walk to the shop and steal myself some swimsuits, shoes, clothes and some beautiful jewelry. Next I would order food on DoorDash. The delivery guy the money is underneath the mat but it’s fake money. He doesn’t need to know that. Next I go into a puppy store and steal the cutest puppies and take some food treats, clothes, leashes, food, bowls, and water bowls. Then I’ll buy myself a ticket for at the end of the 24 hours or I need to fly back to my house because I won’t be invisible anymore. In order to fit all of my stuff into a plane and all my pets. I would need some more money. So I would sneak into a bank and get the money that I need. To fly back home to fit all my pets and stuff onto the plane. That’s what I would do if I could be invisible for 24 hours.
